U.S. Marines with the Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force-Crisis Response-Africa 20.1, Marine Forces Europe and Africa, set up a modified explosive device during an energetic tools range at Morón Air Base, Spain, April 28, 2020. The range provided the opportunity to conduct routine pre-combat checks that included gear preparation, inert improvised explosive device construction, and explosive ordnance disposal operations. SPMAGTF-CR-AF is deployed to conduct crisis-response and theater-security operations in Africa and promote regional stability by conducting military-to-military training exercises throughout Europe and Africa.
