Florida National Guard Spc. Zachary Eddy, with the 868th Engineer Company, is currently supporting a walk-up testing site at Henry L. Brown Kooker Park in Jacksonville, Florida. Eddy is a horizontal construction engineer with the FLNG; however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he now is swabbing patients for COVID-19. He is leveraging his civilian experience as a paramedic for the Putnam County Fire Rescue in order to continue to serve his community.
“It feels good to take my civilian credentials and be able to contribute to the unit. All the general public coming here to get their test, it helps me be able to reassure them that they are in good hands.”
