EAST CHINA SEA (April 22, 2020) Lance Cpl. Shannon Olmstead and Lance Cpl. Aric Slatcher, landing support specialists with Combat Logistics Battalion (CLB) 31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), disassemble M240B medium machine guns during weapon familiarization training aboard the Whidbey Island-class dock landing ship USS Germantown (LSD 42). Marines with CLB-31, 31st MEU, regularly conduct familiarization training to maintain combat readiness and proficiency while underway. Germantown, part of the America Expeditionary Strike Group, 31st MEU team, is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
