Members of the Michigan National Guard bring the skills they have developed in their civilian careers to the front line of Covid-19 response. National Guard members like Pfc. Donald Bailey III, who relishes the precision required in each job.
“I love seeing something from start to finish. People hardly ever get to see the beginning phase of say, cable box rooms, where you see all the wires going into them and how they work. I like planning a project and seeing it bit by bit come to life. And with wiring, it’s such a technical field, it really gets your brain working. You have to be precise with this and precise with that. I like the precision of it because then you know you are doing your job efficiently. Knowing that just one small little cable or fiber could make or break a project, that’s what’s amazing.
