Philadelphia, Pa., April 20, 2020 – In partnership with USACE, Philadelphia Office of Emergency Management and others, FEMA Region 3 transformed Philadelphia’s Temple University Liacouras Center into an alternate care facility to support the city and state of Pennsylvania for hospital surge as a result of COVID-19. We provided 221 beds, which will serve patients in need of medical care and recovery space. Additional areas are being set up and equipped with pressure tents to care for recovering patients.
