Naval Air Station Whiting Field, the busiest aviation complex in the U.S., continues to train future aviation war fighters during the COVID-19 pandemic. Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard students, to include some international students, are assigned to Training Air Wing Five at the installation to complete a rigorous training curriculum to become future aviators. Using safety masks and health measures, the simulator instructor (pictured) prepares to put a student aviator through a simulator block of instruction to help build proficiency in their flight training. NAS Whiting Field conducts approximately 60 percent of all primary flight training and 100 percent of advanced rotary wing training for the Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard.
