(April 3, 2020) Damage Controlman 3rd Class April Sanchez, from El Paso, Texas, stationed aboard Nimitz-Class nuclear aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70), mans a repair locker during the ship's flooding and undocking evolution. During the dry dock flooding, extra precautions are taken to ensure the watertight integrity of the ship's hull. Vinson has completed the dry docked portion of its scheduled maintenance and will complete the rest of the availability floating pierside in Bremerton, Wash.
