Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez and Vice President Myron Lizer joined a team from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District as they conduct site assessments of potential alternate care facilities April 7 in Navajo and Coconino Counties, Arizona.
The site assessment is one of several planned in support of a Federal Emergency Management Agency mission assigned to the Corps' Headquarters. The Corps is assisting Navajo Nation, the state and FEMA's efforts with initial site assessments for alternate care facilities.
