Navy Lt. William Velasco with the Expeditionary Medical Facility New Orleans Detachment receives a patient at the personal housing unit (PHU), in support of the Department of Defense COVID-19 response, April 7, 2020. The EMF works in coordination with federal, state, and local health officials to ensure equipment and resources are in place and are operationally capable to safely treat patients.
