WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio – A doctor and several nurses from the 445th Airlift Wing’s Aerospace Medicine and Aeromedical Staging Squadrons, board a C-17 Globemaster III here April 5, 2020 heading to Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. The Airmen were notified April 4, 2020 that they would be mobilized to New York City to help with the COVID-19 pandemic. The Citizen Airmen will join other military personnel providing medical services at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City. This deployment is part of a larger mobilization package of more than 120 doctors, nurses and respiratory technicians Air Force Reserve units across the nation provided over the past 48 hours in support of COVID-19 response to take care of Americans.
