200327-N-WA745-1118 POHNPEI, Federated States of Micronesia (March 27, 2020) Stanley Etse, director of Pohnpei State Department of Education (right) presents Builder 2nd Class Christian Carlson, with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5’s Detail Pohnpei, a hand-carved plaque as a token of gratitude, dedicated to NMCB-5’s Detail Pohnpei for the completion of the renovations at Sokehs Pah Elementary School. The school is comprised of more than 140 students from kindergarten to eighth grade from the island of Sokehs. NMCB-5 is deployed across the Indo-Pacific region conducting high-quality construction to support U.S. and partner nations to strengthen partnerships, deter aggression, and enable expeditionary logistics and naval power projection.
