Col. Vincent Dawson, the commanding officer of Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force - Southern Command, prepares for the task force’s activation ceremony at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, March 30, 2020. Marines with SPMAGTF- SC held the ceremony to formally activate the unit under U.S. Marine Corps Forces, South. SPMAGTF-SC will be deployed into the Southern Command area of operations to provide crisis response preparedness efforts, security cooperation training and engineering events to help strengthen relations with partner nations throughout Central and South America.
