A field hospital or Rapid Response Shelter sits in front of the iconic tower at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) as part of proof of concept exercise. The purpose of this exercise is to test the readiness of the equipment and personnel setting these facilities up and manning them.
