U.S. Marine explosive ordnance disposal technicians with Combat Logistics Battalion 24, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, use 1,700 pounds of C4 to dispose of outdated and unserviceable ammunition in Kuwait, June 25, 2012. A contingent of Marines from the 24th MEU is participating in various sustainment training exercises in Kuwait during their current deployment. The 24th MEU is deployed as part of the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group, a U.S. Central Command theater reserve force providing support for maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
