“I always wanted to do it. I always wanted to do it from high school. I was always discouraged from one person or another and by the time I had been to grad school and working for the federal government, I just kind of figured, ‘you’ve always wanted to do it. If you’re going to do it, just do it.’ I always wanted to serve. My dad was an Airman, I worked at the VA hospital, I was working at the Air Force. It was just kind of, ‘you always wanted to serve and help the military with behavioral health kind of stuff, so just do it.’”
