An operator with the United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) Critical Infrastructure and Coastal Protection Agency clears a corner while conducting Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure training aboard the U.S.S. Forrest Sherman (DDG 98) during exercise Iron Defender 20 in the Arabian Gulf, March 2, 2020. Iron Defender 20 is a U.S. Naval Forces Central Command led bilateral exercise between the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, and the UAE naval and air defense forces. Iron Defender 20 allows the U.S. Armed Forces to train bilaterally with the UAE Armed Forces to enhance maritime interoperability and strengthen our maritime security posture.
