SILVERDALE, Wash. (Jan. 10, 2020) “As the Strategic Weapons Officer I will be charged with executing the DASO (Demonstration and Shakedown Operation) launch. I feel very blessed to be on the boat that I am - with the crew and the Sailors that I have the honor of serving with. I really do feel fortunate. It is an exciting and awesome responsibility to be one of the few strategic weapons officers who gets the opportunity to execute a test launch. I definitely would not be able to do my job without all the men and women that I serve with on the USS Maine,” said Bryan Glock, from Westminster, Maryland, weapons officer, USS Maine (SSBN 741). Maine was commissioned in Groton, Connecticut, July 25, 1995. She is the 16th submarine of the Ohio-class of ballistic-missile submarines and the third U.S. Navy ship to bear the name.
