KINGS BAY, Ga. (Feb. 25, 2020) Vice Adm. Caudle, Commander, U.S. Submarine Forces, presents the Meritorious Unit Commendation (MUC) to the Ohio-class ballistic-missile submarine USS Alaska (SSBN 732) crews during a visit to Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, Ga. The Navy MUC is awarded to any unit of the Navy or Marine Corps that has distinguished itself, under combat or non-combat conditions, by either valorous or meritorious achievement, which renders the unit outstanding compared to other units performing similar service. "Team Kings Bay is the cornerstone of strategic deterrence on the East Coast," said Caudle. "The women and men here work every day to keep our submarines and Sailors on station, delivering combat ready and lethal forces around the world. These warfighters, uniformed and civilian, are true professionals and dedicated to their critical mission." The base is home to all East Coast Ohio-Class submarines.
