Theodore Zimmer, a combat medic with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 41st Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division, experiments with an airway management device on an intubation training mannequin as part of a medical study and survey Feb. 11 on Fort Carson, Colorado.. The U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research based in Joint Base San Antonio, Fort Sam Houston, Texas, is conducting the study to survey combat medics in all service branches and determine the best choice of device for medics to use during a combat medical situation.
