Blue Ridge Sailors Train During Security Reaction Force-Basic

200221-N-YM543-1511 SOUTH CHINA SEA (February 21, 2020) - Boatswain's Mate Seaman Ella Koudaya, from Tampa, Florida, fends off strikes from Master-at-Arms Seaman Eric Lyons, from Minneapolis, Minnesota, during Security Reaction Force Basic (SRF-B) training on the flight deck of U.S. 7th Fleet flagship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19). During SRF-B training, Sailors learn the weapons handling, self-defense and hand-to-hand combat skills necessary to deal with hostile threats and maintain mission security. Blue Ridge is the oldest operational ship in the Navy and, as 7th Fleet command ship, actively works to foster relationships with allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific region.
