(Feb. 13, 2020) — Discovery Alternative High School students out of Port Orchard, Washington, released a container of Coho salmon hatchlings into Beaver Creek at Naval Base Kitsap–Manchester. The Naval Supply Systems Command Fleet Logistics Center (NAVSUP FLC) Puget Sound Fuel Department hosted local high school students to release 15,000 newly hatched Coho salmon fry into the waterway running through the facility as part of an annual school project to help restore Puget Sound’s salmon population.
