SILVERDALE, Wash. (Jan. 10, 2020) "I serve as the aft tube team leader, so I’m responsible for ensuring we are able to launch a missile off when needed. I’ve never been a part of DASO (Demonstration and Shakedown Operation). There’s not many missile technicians that actually conduct a test launch. We spend a lot of time preparing for this operation, and I’m very excited to be a part of it," said Machinist's Mate Nuclear 2nd Class Gillermo Villasenor, from Chicago, assigned to USS Maine (SSBN 741). Maine was commissioned in Groton, Connecticut, July 25, 1995. She is the 16th submarine of the Ohio-class of ballistic-missile submarines and the third U.S. Navy ship to bear the name.
