200218-N-HR150-1259 SOUTH CHINA SEA (Feb. 18, 2020) - Ensign Christian Malik, from Phoenix, Arizona, assists Machinist's Mate Fireman Jamie Thornton, from Altanta, Georgia, with installing his self-contained breathing apparatus during a general quarters training evolution aboard U.S. 7th Fleet Flagship, USS Blue Ridge (LCC-19). General quarters training allows Sailors to prepare themselves in the event of an actual casualty. Blue Ridge is the oldest operational ship in the Navy and, as 7th Fleet command ship, actively works to foster relationships with allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific region.
