Viet Tran, a project engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District's Nellis Resident Office, checks the battery room, June 12, at the Bureau of Land Management's fire station at the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area near Las Vegas. The batteries are a backup system as part of the project the District recently completed in which they installed a photovoltaic system, capable of generating 40 KWAC, to provide power for the facility.
