U.S. Coast Guard Ensign Scott Nichols, law enforcement and gunnery officer aboard the national security cutter USCGC Waesche (WMSL 751), simulates a scenario for members of the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) during a visit, board, search and seizure (VBSS) training exercise. This event is part of Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) 2012 Malaysia. CARAT is a series of bilateral military exercises between the U.S. Navy and the armed forces of Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.
