The Fort Sam Houston Caisson Platoon, led by Lieutenant Colonel Timothy Hickman, Commander Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, U.S. Army North, marched in San Antonio’s Western Heritage Parade and Cattle Drive, Feb. 1. Celebrating the tradition and spirit of the Old West, the parade kicked-off the annual San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo. The Caisson Platoon is one of only two active-duty, full-time caisson units in the United States Army, providing fallen service members with military funeral honors at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
