200128-N-ZW591-1022 SASEBO, Japan (Jan. 28, 2020) Utilitiesman Constructionman Daniel Silvester, from Lancaster, California, uses a walk-behind concrete saw to prepare for the upcoming excavation in support of Naval Beach Unit (NBU) 7. U.S. Navy Seabees deployed with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5’s Detail Sasebo are constructing two pre-engineered buildings for NBU-7 to provide a place to store and maintain their equipment, increasing their lethality within the region. NMCB-5 is deployed across the Indo-Pacific region conducting high-quality construction to support U.S. and partner nations to strengthen partnerships, deter aggression, and enable expeditionary logistics and naval power projection.
