Mrs. Karen Pence, Second Lady of the United States, visited the Intrepid Spirit Concussion Recovery Center aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune. Mrs. Pence focused her visit on the center's Art Therapy Program and how it helps current and past service members heal from mild brain injuries. Art therapy is part of the center's health care goals to treat mild concussion, combat stress, post traumatic stress, and other psychological health issues.
