A U.S. Marine with Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force-Crisis Response-Africa 20.1, Marine Forces Europe and Africa, exchanges a gift to a French colonel with the Gendarmerie départementale during Exercise Buffalo at Saint-Astier, France, Jan. 24, 2020. The exercise expanded upon the existing partnership between the National Gendarmerie, supported combined training, and explored future engagement opportunities. SPMAGTF-CR-AF is deployed to conduct crisis-response and theater-security operations in Africa and promote regional stability by conducting military-to-military training exercises throughout Europe and Africa.
