Supreme Allied Commander Europe visits Alliance Ground Surveillance aircraft in Italy [Image 3 of 8]
17 Jan. 2020 NATO Secretary General Mr. Jens Stoltenberg holds a speech at the ceremony which marks the delivery of Alliance Ground Surveillance (AGS) remotely piloted aircraft at Sigonella airbase in Italy. The AGS System is comprised of five NATO RQ-4D aircrafts called “Phoenix” and the associated ground command. 15 NATO Allies have acquired the AGS together. The AGS will undertake various surveillance and reconnaissance missions for NATO. It is able to monitor wide areas from the sky. (NATO photo by OR7 Pia Dunkel, German Army)
