200101-N-MD802-2064 GULF OF OMAN (Jan. 1, 2020) A beanie with a personal note from a Weston Lakes, Texas, knitter lies on a table in the mess decks of the guided-missile destroyer USS Farragut (DDG 99). Knitters from across United States delivered beanies for the crew of Farragut. Farragut is part of the Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group and is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
