JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Dec. 12, 2019) – Lt. Cmdr. Jesse McGill, a nurse at Naval Hospital Jacksonville’s emergency room, checks a patient’s monitor. McGill, a native of West Columbia, South Carolina, has a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of West Florida. Recently, McGill returned from an eight-month deployment to West Africa, where he served as the trauma nurse on a damage control surgical team. “We supported our fellow service members from across the Department of Defense in an austere environment. It's important to be able to provide prolonged care in the field, as part of a Navy Medicine team supporting multiple types of missions.
