JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Dec. 10, 2019) – Lt. Cmdr. Andy Hogan, a physician at Naval Hospital Jacksonville’s Family Medicine Clinic, checks a sailor’s heartbeat. Hogan, a native of Jacksonville, Florida, has a Doctor of Medicine from Florida State University’s College of Medicine. On Dec. 8, Hogan took first place in the Sandy Claus Half Marathon in Nocatee. About 100 runners competed in the 13.1 mile run. “As a family medicine physician, I strive to provide the highest quality patient-centered care, which means focusing on the patient and being their best advocate. Making the commitment to live a healthy lifestyle may sometimes be challenging, but it’s fundamental to our well-being. Setting short and long term goals helps me to achieve what I set out to do, and I want to communicate not only through words, but also through actions, that my patients can do this too. I’m proud to represent Navy Medicine and the Military Health System when I enter an event. I look forward to running more in the greater Jacksonville area.” (U.S. Navy photo by Jacob Sippel, Naval Hospital Jacksonville/Released).
