Gunnery Sgt. Eric C. Francis, 35, joined other Marines from 3rd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, to renovate the Central Recreation Center June 14 during community outreach efforts for Marine Week Cleveland. Francis, an Amherst, Ohio, native who visits Cleveland regularly, said he welcomed the chance to give back to the children of Cleveland. The Marines joined volunteers from the Cleveland Indians’ franchise and Defense Finance and Accounting Services to renovate the Central Recreation Center. The volunteers cleared brush, laid new mulch, and cleared out the recreation center’s boiler room. Marine Week Cleveland ends June 17.
