    BROWNSVILLE, Texas – (Jan. 16, 2020) Cmdr. Michael Files, of Austin, the executive officer assigned to Navy Recruiting District (NRD) San Antonio, speaks with local future Sailors during a monthly Navy Delayed Entry Program (DEP) meeting held at Navy Recruiting Station Brownsville. Files, a 1998 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and the National Naval Officers Association’s (NNOA) 2019 Dorie Miller Award recipient, spoke about goal setting and opportunities for the future Sailors to advance in rank prior to shipping to boot camp. NRD San Antonio’s area of responsibility includes more than 34 Navy Recruiting Stations and Navy Officer Recruiting Stations spread throughout 144,000 square miles of Central and South Texas territory.
