Col. Christopher Ruga (left), U.S. Army Garrison Alaska, Fort Wainwright commander, presents a command coin to Sgt. Joseph McClure (right), USAG Alaska’s Better Opportunity for Single Soldiers vice president. McClure is recognized as Hero of the Month for his hard work and dedication to the B.O.S.S. program through his role as vice president, coordinating event and volunteer work and his consistent work assisting the Soldiers Against Drunk Driving program. McClure actively volunteers to drive the SADD van to ensure Soldiers have a safe ride home at the end of a weekend night out. Ruga thanked McClure for not just saving lives by driving the SADD van, but by also saving those who receive a ride from potential career, legal, financial or even family problems.
