Senior Airman Greg Obin with the 211th Engineering Installation Squadron, Pennsylvania Air National Guard, receives a 108th Sustainment Brigade unit patch for his outstanding support from Chief Warrant Officer 2 Lucas Miles, senior human resources officer of the 108th Sustainment Brigade, Task Force Lincoln, Team Blackhawks, Illinois Army National Guard, at Camp Taji, Iraq, Jan. 7, 2020. While the brigade was established in 2006, it carries a lineage dating back to 1936. The patch design alludes to the five military branches and incorporates the 13 stars representing the first American colonies, which adorn the wheel of logistics. The ‘Y’ in the center of the patch pays respect to where the North Branch and Chicago Rivers join. Soldiers from Team Blackhawks of the Illinois Army National Guard are executing the logistics advise, assist, and enable mission under the 1st Theater Sustainment Command supporting Combined Joint Task Force — Operation Inherent Resolve to continue building the sustainment capability of the Iraqi Security Forces (ISF).
