191230-N-WR846-0026 ARABIAN SEA (Dec. 30, 2019) Aviation Electronics Mate 2nd Class Tom Gounaris, from Yardley, Pennsylvania, right, and Aviation Electronics Mate 3rd Class Austin Maples, from Asheville, North Carolina, both assigned to the “Red Rippers” of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 11, conduct maintenance on an F/A-18F Super Hornet in the hangar bay of the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) in the Arabian Sea Dec. 30, 2019. The Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
