191228-N-BM428-0035 SOUTH CHINA SEA (Dec. 28, 2019) An MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 23 (HSC 23) transports cargo from the Henry J. Kaiser-class replenishment tanker USNS Pecos (T-AO 197) to the Independence-variant littoral combat ship USS Gabrielle Giffords (LCS 10) during a vertical replenishment. Gabrielle Giffords is on a rotational deployment to INDOPACOM, conducting operations, exercises and port visits throughout the region and working hull-to-hull with allied and partner navies to provide maritime security and stability, key pillars of a free and open Indo-Pacific.
