191220-N-DY168-1002 KITTERY, Maine (Dec. 20, 2019) Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) Adm. Mike Gilday along with U.S. Senators Jeanne Shaheen, Angus King, and Maggie Hassan; a representative from Senator Susan Collins' office; and U.S. Navy leadership participated in a ceremonial groundbreaking to commemorate the new Dry Dock #1 super flood basin and portal crane rail extension at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (PSNY). The shipyard employs approximately 8,000 civilian employees and approximately 1,000 naval officers and enlisted personnel.
