Maj. Gen. Melvin G. Spiese, deputy commanding general, I Marine Expeditionary Force, salutes sailors as he arrives on the USS Peleliu during PHIBRON-MEU Interoperability Training, June 10. Spiese came on board to observe a portion of the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit and Peleliu Amphibious Ready Group’s exercises during the two-week event as they worked together for the first time as a blue-green team.
