Cutting the cake to celebrate the National Guard’s 383rd Birthday Dec. 13, 2019, at the Maj. Gen. Robert S. Beightler Armory in Columbus, Ohio are: Sgt. Brittney Watkins (from left) and Sgt. Morgan Tecmire, both motor transport operators with the 1483rd Transportation Company; Spc. David Oliver, a cavalry scout for Troop A, 2-107th Cavalry Regiment; Brig. Gen. Steven Stivers, director of joint staff for the Ohio National Guard; and Chief Warrant Officer 5 Lee Scott, the Active Guard Reserve manager for the Ohio National Guard. In a long-standing military tradition, those present at a ceremony with the greatest years of service (Scott) and fewest years of service (Watkins, Tecmire and Oliver) assisted the honored guest (Stivers) with cutting the cake.
