Lance Cpl. Vinson Gallardo with Marine Aerial Refueler Transportation Squadron 152 maintains visual contact of the skiff containing the two men after dropping the life raft to them during a search and rescue mission June 6. The skiff was located 60 nautical miles northwest of Chuuk Island and the Marines coordinated with the Coast Guard to have a rescue vessel arrive and transport the mariners to Chuuk Island.
