Marines assigned to a mobile training team conduct a series of water exercises and pad drills with members of the Dominican Defense Force during Marine Corps small unit training. Task Group 40.9 is deployed under the operational control of U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command for the Global Fleet Station (GFS) pilot deployment to the Caribbean Basin and Central America. The GFS mission is to conduct a broad range of theater security cooperation activities with regional maritime services.
