Corporal Cameron M. Sales, heavy equipment operator, Engineer Detachment, and Staff Sgt. Jesus J. Ortega, heavy equipment mechanic, Maintenance Detachment, both with Combat Logistics Battalion 15, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, provide security at a camp set-up by the Marines and sailors of CLB-15, 15th MEU, during a humanitarian assistance operation in the Sierra Training Area, here, June 5. The operation was in support of the Amphibious Squadron Three and 15th MEU’s pre-deployment training, titled PHIBRON-MEU Interoperability Training. The exercise will help the two units function as a blue-green team capable of conducting worldwide missions ranging from humanitarian aid to combat. Sales, 23, is from Lodi, Calif., and Ortega, 37, is from El Paso, Texas.
