The Hampton Roads Naval Museum hosted a volunteer appreciation event to extend their gratitude to their corps of dedicated museum volunteers. The event was coordinated by Darcy Sink, the museum’s Volunteer Coordinator; with opening remarks from Museum Director, John Pentangelo. After a pot-luck style luncheon, volunteers were provided a copy of the book “War in the Shallows: U.S. Navy Coastal and Riverine Warfare in Vietnam, 1965-1968” by John Darrell Sherwood in addition to receiving a ball cap with the museum’s embroidered logo. Lastly, staff members had the opportunity to thank individual volunteers for their dedication and hard work over the past year. (US Navy Photo by Max Lonzanida/Released).
