Brigadier General Ryan P. Heritage, the commanding general of the Marine Corps Western Recruiting Region, presented the Marine Corps Commandant's Trophy to Cody Nicholls (left), the assistant dean of students at the University of Arizona, and Caleb Ramirez, a Marine Corps Officer Candidate. Ramirez, the honor graduate of Platoon Leaders Course Combined 20, was awarded the Marine Corps Commandants Trophy during the Arizona Cardinals football game in Glendale, Ariz. on December 1, 2019.The Platoon Leaders Course Combined is a 10-week training event designed to screen and evaluate potential Marine Corps Officers. Those who successfully complete the period of instruction are commissioned as Second Lieutenants in the United States Marine Corps.
