MANAMA, Bahrain (Nov. 17, 2019) Sonar Technician (Surface) 3rd Class Justin Peltier heaves a mooring line as the guided-missile cruiser USS Normandy (CG 60) departs Manama, Bahrain following a scheduled port visit. Normandy is part of the East Coast Surface Action Group and is operating in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and Pacific through the Western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
