U.S. Marines Col. Robert Meade, commanding officer of Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force – Southern Command, and Sgt. Maj. Bradley Coppes, senior enlisted adviser of the SPMAGTF, case the unit colors during the closing ceremony of the task force’s 2019 deployment on Nov. 15, 2019, at Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras. The ceremony marks the ending of the SPMAGTF-SC deployment to Latin America and the Caribbean. The task force conducted training and engineering projects hand-in-hand with partner nation military members in the region during their deployment that coincided with hurricane season. The task force was also on standby to provide humanitarian assistance and disaster relief in the event of a natural disasters or other emergencies in the region.
