Lance Cpl. Phillip Hare, from Sykesville, Md., posts security while Lance Cpl. Donald Poorbaugh, a rifleman from Mt. Pleasant, Penn., digs a fighting hole to establish a defensive position alongside other Marines with Charlie Company, Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, and members of the Lebanese Army here, May 21, 2012, during Exercise Eager Lion 12. More than 1,000 Marines and Sailors from the 24th MEU have been training with Jordanian and other partnered nation militaries in various events ashore throughout Jordan to maximize multilateral training opportunities and continue to build relationships with partners throughout the region. Eager Lion 12 is the second major exercise for the 24th MEU and the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group, which are currently deployed to the U.S. Central Command area of operations as a theater reserve and crisis response force.
